Are you looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant position in Southall with an immediate start?
Prebook Recruitment is working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Southall, Ealing, looking to appoint an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join its EYFS team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous Nursery, Reception or Early Years experience who enjoys supporting young children’s learning and development.
The school is particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting phonics, early reading and communication development.
EYFS Teaching Assistant – The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support children’s learning through play-based and structured activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children within Nursery or Reception
- Delivering phonics and early reading activities
- Providing individual and small-group learning support
- Developing children’s communication, language and vocabulary
- Supporting early literacy and numeracy
- Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
- Supporting children with additional learning needs
- Creating a positive and engaging Early Years environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Who We’re Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience working within EYFS, Nursery or Reception
- Experience supporting young children in a school or similar setting
- Knowledge of phonics and early reading, ideally including Read Write Inc.
- Understanding of child development and play-based learning
- A warm, patient and nurturing approach
- Confidence supporting individual pupils and small groups
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Previous Primary School experience would be desirable. However, experienced Nursery Practitioners looking to move into a school environment are also encouraged to apply.
