1:1 Learning Support Assistant Vacancy in Hanwell
Are you looking for a Learning Support Assistant position in Hanwell supporting a child with additional learning needs?
Prebook Recruitment is working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Hanwell, Ealing, looking to appoint an experienced 1:1 Learning Support Assistant for an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with individual pupils and helping children develop confidence, independence and the skills needed to access learning.
The school is ideally looking for someone with previous experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD, communication difficulties or social and emotional needs.
1:1 Learning Support Assistant – The Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with an individual pupil, providing consistent support throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support within a Primary School classroom
- Helping the pupil access learning activities and classroom routines
- Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Adapting activities to meet individual learning needs
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
- Helping the pupil develop relationships with peers
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Following individual support plans and agreed strategies
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
The role requires someone who can build a positive, trusting relationship with a child while maintaining clear boundaries and encouraging independence.
Who We’re Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Worker
- Understanding of autism, ADHD or additional learning needs
- Confidence providing individual learning and emotional support
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to follow individual support plans
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
Candidates with relevant experience supporting children outside a school environment may also be considered.
