Prebook Recruitment is working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Northolt, Ealing, looking to appoint an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term position.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting children with additional learning needs and wants to make a meaningful difference within a Primary School environment.
The school is ideally looking for someone with previous experience supporting children with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties or social and emotional needs.
SEND Teaching Assistant – The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence and independence.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with SEND within the classroom
- Providing individual and small-group learning support
- Supporting children with autism, ADHD and communication needs
- Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills
- Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Encouraging independence and engagement in learning
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and support staff
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback
- Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Who We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in candidates with:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND
- Experience working within a Primary School or similar educational setting
- Understanding of autism, ADHD or additional learning needs
- Confidence providing individual and small-group support
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
